Creating a sustainable future.
At Niche, we do work that matters and has a lasting and profound impact on our clients, communities and our environment. We want to leave a positive legacy on the world and create a sustainable future.
We are unashamedly optimistic about our ability to create meaningful change.
Niche was founded on a desire to do things better. And on the realisation that standard approaches to environmental management did not always fit our clients’ complex challenges.
Delivering the solutions our clients and communities need requires us to empower and trust our people with the flexibility, autonomy and resources they need, and to provide leadership and support so they can do their best work.
This support has been built around 4 pillars that have been defined by our people.
We’ve been championing flexible and remote work since we were established in 2009. Now we’re extending it further to support you to do your best work, and take care of all the other aspects of your life.
“I appreciate that Niche gives me the choice to work flexibly from anywhere in the country. Our working environment is collaborative and trusting and motivates each one of us to deliver excellence.”
Deretta Brown, Business Analyst
And you’ll have the flexibility to take your career where you want to go.
“Niche have been supportive in allowing me the flexibility I needed to complete my doctorate with the Australian National University. I was employed by Niche as an experienced ecology consultant with six months remaining of my degree. They allowed me flexible working hours around research meetings, and the capacity to work less hours for the final weeks of my degree.”
Dr Cara Parsons, Experienced Consultant – Ecology
The cornerstone of our organisation is a vibrant community where all our people can belong and build meaningful connections. That community extends out to the communities we serve.
“It’s been great to have some paid time off to take a break from work to look after the new addition, as well as hang out with the family, relax, adjust and take it all in. I’m looking forward to trying the primary carer role later in the year!”
Simon Tweed, Manager – Natural Capital
We foster this through a range of offerings that support your health, belonging and wellbeing.
We’re proud of the amazing projects we’ve worked on. And we know there is more to do. As an organisation and a community, we are also working to reduce our footprint, foster connection and reconciliation with Indigenous communities, and create sustainable solutions for our environment and heritage.
“Niche is committed to winning the best and most consequential work in the industry, like the Inland Rail Offsetting project, which is the largest offsetting project in Australia and will result in a large number of managed conservation sites across NSW, which is an inspiring outcome to be involved with for an ecologist.”
Dr. Cairo Forrest, Practice Leader – Ecology
