BELONG TO AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY

The foundations of our support

We are unashamedly optimistic about our ability to create meaningful change.

Niche was founded on a desire to do things better. And on the realisation that standard approaches to environmental management did not always fit our clients’ complex challenges.

Delivering the solutions our clients and communities need requires us to empower and trust our people with the flexibility, autonomy and resources they need, and to provide leadership and support so they can do their best work.

This support has been built around 4 pillars that have been defined by our people.

  • We’ve been championing flexible and remote work since we were established in 2009. Now we’re extending it further to support you to do your best work, and take care of all the other aspects of your life.

“I appreciate that Niche gives me the choice to work flexibly from anywhere in the country. Our working environment is collaborative and trusting and motivates each one of us to deliver excellence.”
    Deretta Brown, Business Analyst

    • Flexible and remote working options to structure work around your life
    • Options to take additional life leave to support your health, wellbeing, development and personal fulfilment
    • Annual salary review and industry benchmarking
    • Competitive time in lieu policy and allowances for your time out in the field
  • And you’ll have the flexibility to take your career where you want to go.

“I have been able to adapt my working hours to accommodate additional studies. I have been supported through additional study leave and the flexibility of where I can work in order to complete my studies,”
    Chelsea Freeman, Heritage Consultant

    • Mentoring program to connect you to a network of industry leaders
    • Flexible career paths and learning programs across technical and people leadership
    • Discipline-specific training and accreditation
    • Professional development and membership support
    • Additional leave and allowance to support your professional development
  • The cornerstone of our organisation is a vibrant community where all our people can belong and build meaningful connections. That community extends out to the communities we serve.

“It’s been great to have some paid time off to take a break from work to look after the new addition, as well as hang out with the family, relax, adjust and take it all in. I’m looking forward to trying the primary carer role later in the year!”
Simon Tweed, Manager – Natural Capital

“Niche is committed to winning the best and most consequential work in the industry, like the Inland Rail Offsetting project, which is the largest offsetting project in Australia and will result in a large number of managed conservation sites across NSW, which is an inspiring outcome to be involved with for an ecologist.”
