Niche achieves Carbon Neutral Organisation certification from Australian Government standard

Niche has achieved Climate Active Carbon Neutral Organisation certification for our business operations in FY2023, measuring and offsetting over 420 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions for the period.

This continues Niche’s long-standing commitment to taking climate action – we have been carbon neutral since FY2019 when we first measured and offset our emissions.

“As a growing Australian business, we recognise our responsibility to measure and balance our emissions. Given our work in the environment space, we see first-hand the impacts that climate change is having on nature and biodiversity, so we believe strongly in taking every action we can to help tackle this,” said Ian Rollins, Managing Director at Niche.

“By being a carbon neutral organisation, we are not only taking steps to reduce emissions, but proactively investing in climate action projects that contribute to global emissions reductions and achieve other environmental and community co-benefits,” said Ian.

Niche has implemented a range of emissions reduction activities into our business operations including reducing in-person meetings and adding a hybrid vehicle to our fleet.

Niche offset emissions in FY2023 by supporting several climate action projects in Australia and overseas, including renewable energy, forest protection and savanna burning.

The projects we choose to support benefit nature and communities in addition to avoiding or reducing emissions. For example, the Karlantijpa North Savanna Burning project in the Northern Territory supports rangers and Traditional Owners managing country.
