Creating a sustainable future.
At Niche, we do work that matters and has a lasting and profound impact on our clients, communities and our environment. We want to leave a positive legacy on the world and create a sustainable future.
Niche advise project developers who are required to buy biodiversity credits to meet their offset obligations under the Biodiversity Offset Scheme in NSW.
We also support the voluntary purchase and sourcing of biodiversity credits to assist clients looking for biodiversity projects in which to invest.
Our experienced team has facilitated close to $1b of credit sales on behalf of development clients and over the past 5 years, we have transacted over 36,000 of our client’s credits, valued at over $71m.
Our services include designing biodiversity offset strategy, procurement planning, and brokering the sale and purchase of biodiversity offset credits.
We thoroughly understand the complex BOS trading rules and work with you to ensure you have the right offsets/biodiversity products required for your project exactly when you need them, and for the best price possible.
Our brokerage services include:
We have also developed our own unique Biodiversity Offset Exchange (BOE) database to facilitate searching for offsets according to the complex Biodiversity Offset Scheme trading rules. This allows our team to match credit demand and supply in an instant. Matching the offset credit needs of our development clients with the biodiversity offsetting resources of our landowner clients provides exceptional commercial and environmental outcomes.
Contact us today for an overview of our credit inventory. If we don’t have what you need, we would be happy to approach landholders and the broader credit supply market on your behalf. We also have a team dedicated to identifying and securing land for offsets.
Niche represents more landholders than any other biodiversity offset credit broker in NSW. We currently have in the order of $178m of ecosystem credits and $73m of species credits available for sale from 24 established offset sites (see map below) with another 24 offset sites in various stages of development.
Developers needing biodiversity credits or those wishing to establish biodiversity projects may create their own from land purchased or owned by a third party.
Niche works with landowners and managers to guide them through the process of establishing a conservation site, generating and selling biodiversity credits.
