Niche achieves Carbon Neutral Organisation certification from Australian Government standard
Niche has achieved Climate Active Carbon Neutral Organisation certification for our business operations in FY2023, measuring and offsetting over 420 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions for the period.
This continues Niche’s long-standing commitment to taking climate action – we have been carbon neutral since FY2019 when we first measured and offset our emissions.
“As a growing Australian business, we recognise our responsibility to measure and balance our emissions. Given our work in the environment space, we see first-hand the impacts that climate change is having on nature and biodiversity, so we believe strongly in taking every action we can to help tackle this,” said Ian Rollins, Managing Director at Niche.
“By being a carbon neutral organisation, we are not only taking steps to reduce emissions, but proactively investing in climate action projects that contribute to global emissions reductions and achieve other environmental and community co-benefits,” said Ian.
Niche has implemented a range of emissions reduction activities into our business operations including reducing in-person meetings and adding a hybrid vehicle to our fleet.

Projects we support
Niche offset emissions in FY2023 by supporting several climate action projects in Australia and overseas.
Karlantijpa North Savanna Burning project in Australia:
Niche has purchased Aboriginal-generated Australian Carbon Credit Units from the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation. This project in the Northern Territory involves strategic and planned burning of savanna areas in the low rainfall zone during the early dry season to reduce the risk of late dry season wild fires. The project supports rangers and Traditional Owners managing country.
The New Leaf project in Australia:
The New Leaf project has converted 28,000ha of previously logable forest to a protected forest in Tasmania. From serene, ancient old-growth rainforests in Tasmania’s north-east to sub-alpine forests, stunning lowland forests and intimate forested valleys in the state’s Central Highlands.
Solar power projects in India:
The project activity involves the installation of 120 MW of Solar PV plant located at different states in India. The project is a clean technology investment in the region, which would not have taken place in the absence of funding from carbon credits.
