Ishara has worked as a GIS consultant for the bulk of her career with industry sector experience including water and energy, forestry, emergency management, health, and local and state governments. Her experience spans delivery of GIS strategies, design and implementation of enterprise level GIS databases and systems across mobile, desktop, web, and cloud platforms.
 
Ishara has a degree in Land Surveying from the University of Natal in South Africa and was the first female graduate with this qualification at the university.  Ishara has led the development of significant GIS applications including HealthTracks, which won the Spatially Enabling Government category at the Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA), and the Health Decision Support System (HDSS) which received the Research and Innovation Award at the Queensland Spatial Excellence Awards.
 
Ishara leads Niche’s Spatial Services team, providing high quality mapping and spatial information, reliable field operations support, and robust data insights to inform project managers and decision makers.
