Located northeast of Gunnedah, Piney Range protects 1,818 hectares of intact native forest and woodland within the Brigalow Belt South. Left largely uncleared for 45 years, the site provides vital habitat linkages and supports threatened species including Koalas, Squirrel Gliders, two endangered bat species, and the rare plant Tylophora linearis. With permanent watercourses, diverse ecological communities, and a landholder deeply committed to conservation, Piney Range delivers measurable conservation outcomes and high-quality biodiversity credits under the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme.
In this video, Niche’s client Ilia Doshen and Niche’s Founding Partner Matthew Richardson talk about Ilia’s property, Piney Range in NSW, which is an established Biodiversity Stewardship Site. Ilia shares why he wanted to conserve his property and how he earns an income from biodiversity offset credits by working with the Niche team.
Niche works with landholders to empower them to earn an income from conserving biodiversity on their property, under the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme.
