Principal- Ecology
Kirsty is an experienced ecologist and green infrastructure planner, with over 20 years experience in environmental research, planning and policy, and ecological consulting. She is passionate about sustainable development and providing access to nature for people through multifunctional green infrastructure in the urban setting. Kirsty has experience working on large scale planning projects in a range of sectors such as linear infrastructure (rail, road, and utilities), mines (coal and CSG), new settlement design (UK), and urban extensions both in Queensland and in the UK. Kirsty has worked with local councils on policy development for environmental offsets and green infrastructure, and as technical advisor for master planning of new communities. Kirsty has also worked with her consulting clients from the same sectors to avoid, minimise and offset project impacts to the environment.
Kirsty has worked in private consulting and for the governmental regulators in Queensland and the UK. She has expertise in multifunction green infrastructure planning and natural capital based design, vegetation surveys and environmental offsets in Queensland, environmental impact assessment and reporting, environmental offset strategies, stakeholder engagement and consultation, and project and team management.
