Project Manager – NSW (location flexible)

About this role

The Project Manager – Specialist Studies will join our NSW team, initially to lead and manage a large and complex specialist technical assessment currently underway. Over time, we see this role taking on the delivery management of larger and longer term portfolios covering complex specialist technical projects. The role is focused on excellence in project delivery and you’ll play a key role in our NSW business success. As such, we are seeking someone with a minimum of 5 years’ of direct experience in managing fast paced, complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders.

The role is, initially a one year contract role, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time position.

You’ll be provided autonomy to lead delivery of challenging and exciting projects across NSW, whilst being supported by a professional and welcoming team.

The qualifications and experience we need:
  • Tertiary qualifications with demonstrable technical project management experience working within a PMBoK, Prince2 or Agile or a similar methodology.
  • You will have the ability to lead and inspire specialist disciplinary teams, to engage and develop the capability of those within your projects to drive the project toward milestones and conclusion.
  • Experience with ecology and or heritage specialist projects or a similar technical discipline is a distinct advantage.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage safety, time, cost, quality, and risk elements.
  • Proven history of effective contract management, resourcing planning and delivery management.
  • You must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and develop excellent working relationships with clients, and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Leadership skills and a willingness to provide mentoring to junior team members. 
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and assessment skills, together with strong professional experience.
  • Precise attention to detail and ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget.  
  • Produces deliverables that are high quality, accurate and complete including a quality assurance review. 
  • High level of proficiency with the Microsoft 0365 suite of programs, including MS Project is critical.
  • A full current NSW driver’s licence, NSW White Card (CIC), First Aid certificate is desirable.
