The opportunity
We are seeking a full-time Senior Heritage Consultant with expertise in Aboriginal cultural heritage management to join our growing Queensland-based cultural heritage team. With our flexible working model, you would combine working in either of our Sandgate (Brisbane) or Cairns physical offices, working from your home office, attending client offices, and undertaking field work across Queensland.
About you
We are seeking someone with over 6+ years’ experience in the cultural heritage industry, primarily in QLD. You will be an emerging leader in heritage consulting services. You will lead moderate to complex cultural heritage projects, which may include designing and undertaking field work, report writing, client and Aboriginal Party liaison, and providing detailed technical and statutory advice on moderate to complex heritage matters.
Experience with local, State and Commonwealth legislation relating to Aboriginal cultural heritage management in QLD is a critical part of the role. You will have experience and/or demonstrable understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003 and relevant statutory guidelines including the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Duty of Care Guidelines and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plan Guidelines in QLD.
You will need to work both independently and as part of a larger team of technical professionals in the delivery of project work for our clients. You must therefore have good interpersonal skills, a desire to achieve excellent customer service goals, and willingness to develop your communication skills, especially with Aboriginal community representatives and other delivery stakeholders.

Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications, an honours degree or other postgraduate qualification in Australian archaeology, anthropology, or cultural heritage management.
