At Niche, we are committed to caring for each other and to maximising professional and personal opportunities for our team.
This spirit of care is expressed through a variety of initiatives and benefits for eligible employees, including those who are going through the exciting experience of becoming parents.
Flexibility when families need it most
Niche’s parental leave policy enables employees to take time away from work to focus on the new responsibilities that come with parenthood, allowing flexibility for both primary and secondary carers to access paid time off work.
Supporting the transition back to work
While on parental leave, Niche employees are welcome to attend company events and gatherings, and to keep in touch with colleagues from time to time, if they would like to. Once the time comes, our dedicated People and Culture team are on hand to support the transition back to work.
In addition to paid parental leave, employees can benefit from flexible working arrangements including working from home, flexible days and flextime. Niche employees and their families also have direct access to our employee assistance program – a free service providing counselling, relationship and financial advice.
What our team say about parental leave…
“One of the many things I love about working for Niche is that the whole team is so supportive and very family oriented! Paid maternity leave helped us not to worry about money while we were finding our feet as new parents. When returning to work, Niche was very flexible and accommodating and allowed me to use my flexi-days to return part time. “
Jessie Bear, Ecology Consultant – NSW

“It’s been great to have some paid time off to look after the new addition, take a break from work to hang out with the fam, relax, adjust and take it all in. I’m looking forward to trying the primary carer role later in the year! “

“It was great to be able to take a full month off work getting to know my son. The additional two weeks full pay provided by Niche allowed us to settle into a good routine as a family and take some of the pressure off my wife during this exciting but exhausting time. I am looking forward to taking another two-month parental leave as primary carer towards the end of next year.”
