State government supplier of choice for environmental and cultural heritage services
Niche has been selected to join the Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR)’s new supplier prequalification scheme.
Niche joins the Infrastructure Building and Construction Panel (IBCP) as a provider of both environmental and cultural heritage services.
While the IBCP is administrated by TMR, it is whole-of-government procurement scheme, allowing any organisation within the Queensland state government to engage Niche to provide environmental or heritage services. The IBCP seeks to replace TMR’s existing prequalification arrangement, the Engineering Consultancy Scheme (ECS), through which Niche has been engaged for multiple projects over several years.

Additionally, since 2020, Niche has been prequalified supplier under LocalBuy’s Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Services contract.
LocalBuy is the procurement scheme servicing local, state and federal government, government-owned corporations, universities and not-for-profit organisations in Queensland.
The scheme enables proponents to engage Niche to provide environmental and heritage services at any stage of the project cycle, from concept through to completion.
Playing our part in Brisbane’s revitialisation

Niche has contributed specialist services to some of Queensland’s capital city’s most significant redevelopment projects, including heritage architect services for iconic sites Queen’s Wharf and Herston Quarter.
Our historical heritage team has supported city-building infrastructure projects, having undertaken archaeological excavations right in the heart of Brisbane for Cross River Rail.
And, in October 2021, Brisbane City Council chose Niche to join its Infrastructure Design Consultancy Services Panel.
Other Local councils also approve Niche
Niche has also been accepted onto a number of other Council procurement panels, including in the north, where Cairns Regional Council, Douglas Shire Council, Mackay Regional Council and Winton Shire Council have all accepted Niche as a prequalified provider for environmental and heritage services.
Before being accepted as a panel member by Queensland state or local government organisations, service providers are required to provide evidence of their key personnel’s qualifications, technical skills and project experience, and to show evidence of systems – such as WHS procedures and environmental policies – that meet the high standards required.
“Our team is proud to have strong and longstanding relationships within both State and local government organisations throughout Queensland.”
Cameron Harvey, Qld regional manager
“Niche’s acceptance into government panels and preferred supplier schemes is a really strong endorsement of our team’s expertise and project experience, and of our robust business systems,” commented Cameron.
Cameron added; “We will continue to support our public sector clients with high quality specialist services for projects that benefit our communities throughout Queensland.”
