Niche Environment and Heritage (Niche) in June 2020 executed a formal Agreement to support the Australian Department of Defence as a member of the Defence Infrastructure Panel – Environment, Heritage and Engineering Services 2020-2025 (DIP.EHE) for an initial five year term.
As one of Australia’s largest land managers, Defence is responsible for the management of a large, complex, and diverse estate that has a mix of Indigenous, natural, and historic heritage values.
Securing a place on the DIP.EHE Panel is the result of a highly competitive tender process, with Niche proving its ability to provide a strong client and stakeholder focus and to deliver capability and excellence to the Department of Defence.
Niche leveraged its NSW and Queensland heritage and ecology capabilities to develop a comprehensive delivery model, demonstrating its ability to support such a substantive organisation through strong business references.
As a pre-qualified DIP.EHE panel member, Niche will respond to tender opportunities under this Panel Agreement to provide natural heritage services to Defence.
Work secured by Niche under the DIP.EHE Panel Agreement will support Defence to meet their challenges of balancing the requirement to identify, assess, conserve, and manage heritage values while continuing to enable Defence’s operational and capability requirements.
Niche’s DIP.EHE Panel Manager, Mr. Lawrence Smith said, “As a result of this Agreement with Defence, we now have up to 50 people in the process of becoming ‘Defence Ready’, as we look forward to cementing our relationship with the Department of Defence over the next five years and beyond.”
