Making a difference in Mudgee
Watershed Landcare’s Green Day is an annual event for year five and six students from sixteen schools in Mudgee and the surrounding region. Now in its ninth year, Green Day 2017 will provide a record number of 625 kids with an opportunity to learn about the environment.
Green Day includes workshop presentations from a local businesses and organisations, and keynote speaker Ruben Meerman, a.k.a the Surfing Scientist. The theme of this year’s event is GoMAD, an acronym for Go Make A Difference.
“Our theme is all about taking action. Workshops will provide students with key take-home messages around the themes of biodiversity, energy, waste and water,” said Vivien Howard, organiser of Green Day, and Niche’s lead consultant in Mudgee.
Green Day takes place on Thursday 7 September 2017 at Mudgee Showground and is supported by Mid-Western Regional Council, Local Land Services Central Tablelands and Niche Environment and Heritage.
