Niche Environment and Heritage is a multidisciplinary consultancy specialising in ecology and biodiversity, and heritage management, environmental approvals and environmental offsetting. Established in 2009, we have successfully delivered projects to clients across eastern Australia.
Our 40-strong team includes ecologists, botanists, archaeologists and environmental engineers with a wealth of specialist knowledge derived from their research studies, extensive experience, ongoing training and many years of professional practice in their specialist disciplines.

Niche’s ecology group includes individuals who are regarded by their peers and the wider professional community as genuine experts in their fields. Our principal and senior ecological consultants regularly author expert reports for environmental assessments (including BioBanking assessments), act as expert witnesses in the Land and Environment Court, and have published many peer-reviewed scientific papers.
Our consultants have experience from working within both private consulting firms and state government organisations including State Forests, NSW DPI and OEH as well as research institutions such as the Universities of Sydney and Newcastle. Our senior ecological consultants are trusted to deliver practical ecology training to fellow professionals from consulting firms, councils and state government organisations.
At our Wildlife School training courses, members of the Niche ecology group pass on their deep knowledge of flora and fauna, field survey and identification techniques, and guide participants to encourage excellence in their ecology careers and best practice management of our wildlife.
