Niche’s first new recruit of 2015 is Clair Davey. Clair is a Cairns-based archaeologist with consulting experience in both QLD and Northern NSW.
Clair has worked as technical advisor for the Adani Carmichael Coal Mine and Rail Project, and has road project experience having worked for both the QLD Department of Main Roads and NSW Roads and Maritime Services.
She has an interest in the lithic artefacts of the Middle Son Valley, north-central India where she has conducted research, and she has co-authored several papers on this topic. Clair is nearing completion of her PhD entitled The Lithic Assemblages of Dhaba: Documenting long-term occupation in India and the impact of the Toba super-eruption 74,000 years ago.
Clair’s strengths include advanced research skills, tender preparation, lithic analysis, survey, excavation and post fieldwork analysis. Her appointment adds support to Niche’s growing client base in Queensland.
